Scottish prisoners put on Lockdown

Kilmarnock HMP was put into lockdown after around 60 inmates held in a protection wing rioted over a crackdown on mail.

An insider told how toilets and washing facilities were tore of walls and thrown at staff, who had been told to don riot gear to deal with the protest.

Prisoners were said to be locked in their cells and the prison was hoping to return to normal.
