“School locked down following sighting of ‘two boys’ climbing over the gate.”
St Bede’s Catholic High School in Ormskirk was placed under lockdown on the afternoon of September 29 after two boys were reportedly seen climbing over the school gate.
Lancashire Police were called to the scene shortly after 12:07pm following reports of a disturbance. School officials responded swiftly by initiating a full lockdown procedure and notifying parents of the situation.
An alert sent to parents stated:
“I regret to inform you that this afternoon at 12.15pm we had to initiate our lockdown procedure. This was not a drill.”
“If your child has been affected by this incident, please contact the relevant Year Leader.”
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police confirmed:
“We received a report of a nuisance at 12.07pm today. Two youths were seen climbing over a gate at the school. They left the area shortly afterwards.”
